About Me
My name is Adrian Martinez and I’m from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I was born and raised in the capitol of Puerto Rico. My family consists of 6 individuals, my dad, mom, big brother, littler sister, and my dog coco. I grew up around many family members for the island is very small and everyone lives relatively close to each other. Puertorican culture is very family oriented. My family is one of the most important aspects of my life. In this picture, you can see me with my grandma and little cousin celebrating christmas
Having the support of my parents has been a very important part of where I am today. They have pushed me to be better and be succesful in everything I do. They themselves have developed successful businesses and have pushed me to do the same. Nevertheless, they have shown their support in many different areas of my life. The picture to the right illustrates my Mom at one of my valleyball games where I was playing for Penn State Behrend. They flew from Puerto Rico to be able to watch one game. This was a very special moment for me and it showed the level of support my parents have for me.
Regalo De Amor
My family started an organization called “Regalo de Amor”, which stands for “a gift of love”. Our organization focuses on making christmas the best time of the year despite economic hardships. We recieve hundreds of nominations every year. The families nominated receive gifts for their kids and food. We want people to celebrate christams with full bellies and amazing gifts.
